We know the industry backwards.

Between us we have more than 100 years’ industry experience. This includes senior management and operational roles in major international and domestic logistics companies.

Steve, Troy and Stu are all founding shareholders and directors of, New Zealand owned, Orbis Global Logistics.

Troy Hageman

Troy has more than 30 years’ experience in the freight and logistics industry. He started on the lowest rung on the ladder but rapidly advanced through a variety roles at NZ Express.

He joined Kuehne + Nagel NZ as CEO in 1996, and during his tenure he oversaw the dynamic growth of the business as it became one of the most successful logistics providers in the country. Revenues increased from $10 million to $190 million, while the headcount went from 12 to more than 200.

Troy was formerly the CEO for Cooltainer, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel.  This has provided him with extensive knowledge of the perishable industry in New Zealand and Australia, in both airfreight and sea freight.

Troy’s experience covers all areas of the logistics industry and he has particular expertise in sales and marketing, general management, mergers and acquisitions, as well as organisational strategy and development. 

Stephen Fredricson

Steve commenced working in the freight forwarding industry in 1990. He was initially involved in perishable airfreight operations for LEP International (now Agility), before undertaking a number of senior positions in the company.

He then worked for four years in the US and returned to New Zealand in 1999 to resume his career with LEP, and went on to hold senior airfreight sales and management roles.

In 2001 Steve was appointed New Zealand General Manager of Airborne Express which was subsequently purchased by DHL.

Steve joined Kuehne + Nagel NZ in 2003 where he held a number of senior management positions, including General Manager of Airfreight, Auckland Branch Manager and New Zealand General Manager of Seafreight.

Steve’s major strengths lie in operations especially in problem solving, procurement and ensuring high levels of service delivery. 

Stuart Kingdon

Stu joined LEP International (now Agility) in 1998 and initially worked in an export air operations sales role before moving to the sea freight division.

In 2004 he joined Kuehne + Nagel NZ as a sales cadet where he had responsibility for the Trans-Tasman route. This was followed by a senior role in long-haul trades which included Asia, the US and Europe.

Stu was appointed Auckland Sales Manager in 2010 where he was the head of new business. This involved team development, financial oversight and management of strategic accounts.

Stu is a highly skilled sales professional. He is a strong relationship builder and his deep industry knowledge allows him to provide clients with cost-effective logistics solutions.

Rebecca Thomson

Rebecca commenced her career in the logistics industry in 1997. She worked initially in sales support roles, before taking up a variety of operational air/sea import and export roles, as well as positions in dispatch and cartage.

Rebecca gained valuable management skills in the five years she spent at Ceva Logistics where, for most of this time, she was a Global Key Account Manager.

In 2006 Rebecca joined Kuehne + Nagel NZ as Corporate Account Manager where she managed the company’s top corporate accounts. This included on-boarding, integration into the Kuehne + Nagel network and relationship management.

Rebecca has broad operational experience in the industry. This has provided her with high-level organisational capabilities and the expertise required to manage corporate relationships.

Sammi Lu

Sammi joined Kuehne + Nagel NZ in 2009 after completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Massey University.

In 2013 she was appointed Business Development/Key Account Manager with a focus on developing the Asian market. Sammi is fluent in English and Mandarin which enables her to quickly establish relationships and accurately assess client needs.

Sammi also holds Bachelor of Business Studies, with a double major in business management and communication management.

Sophie Koligi

Sophie Koligi

Sophie started her career in the logistics industry 12 years ago. She worked in a variety of operational roles before moving into the airline sector with Emirates Airlines NZ as a Senior Cargo Services Agent.

Sophie then moved to Australia where she worked for Toll and Mondiale in senior customer services positions before joining Orbis as a Customer Services Specialist.

Cameron has 17 years’ experience in the logistics industry.  He entered Mainfreight’s graduate program in 1999, and held several positions within the business across the logistics, domestic and international freight forwarding divisions.

From 2005 to 2013 Cameron was the Tauranga Branch Manager for Mainfreight International, which at the time was the largest freight forwarder in the Bay of Plenty.

Cameron then joined Cooltainer (under Kuehne + Nagel ownership) in 2013 and ran the Tauranga branch. The branch provided a dedicated door-to-door service across the cool chain for both fresh and frozen produce.

Cameron has expertise in handling a wide range of perishable cargo across the horticulture, dairy and seafood sectors. This include; kiwifruit, avocado, cheese, fish, seafood, frozen chips, lemons and bakery products.

Following Cooltainer, Cameron gained valuable experience in the post-harvest kiwifruit sector with Seeka Limited. His role was managing the kiwifruit and avocado programmes from New Zealand to Australia.

In addition to the logistics industry, Cameron and his family are third generation orchardists and have lived in the Bay of Plenty since the purchase of their first kiwifruit orchard in 2005.

Cameron’s strengths cover all facets of the supply chain. Specifically working with customers to put into place a solution that works for their business. Cameron can provide hands on operational expertise while also considering the big picture. As a grower in the horticulture industry, Cameron understands first-hand the pressures and importance that an efficient, effective supply chain play.
